What is rechurning?
Opening an account at the same bank again after a waiting period to earn the bonus a second (or third) time.
Rechurning means going back to a bank you've already gotten a bonus from and earning it again. A lot of banks allow this. They just ask that you wait a certain amount of time between bonuses, usually somewhere between 12 and 36 months.
Some banks spell out the cooldown period clearly in their offer terms. Others are vague about it, and the only way to know what works is community experience. A few banks track your history carefully and will deny the bonus if you got one recently. Others seem to have no memory of you at all.
To do it cleanly: close your old account with no negative balance and no open disputes, wait out whatever the cooldown period is, and then apply as a new customer. Some banks care whether you've had any account with them recently. Others only care whether you received the bonus.
This is one of the things that makes bank bonuses repeatable rather than a one-time thing.
