Open a new Free Checking account
Become a Navigator Credit Union member and open a new, free checking account between June 1 and August 31, 2026. Members with an existing checking account, or who closed a Navigator checking account in the past 90 days, do not qualify.
Receive $500 in qualifying direct deposits
Receive a total of $500 or more in qualifying electronic direct deposits within 60 days of account opening. Qualifying deposits come from an employer, payroll provider, benefits provider, pension, or the government (such as Social Security). External ACH transfers not from an employer, peer-to-peer payments (PayPal, Zelle, Cash App, Venmo), and mobile check deposits do not count.
Make 12 debit card purchases
Complete 12 point-of-sale or signature debit card purchases within 60 days of account opening. ATM transactions and transfers between accounts do not count.
The $150 bonus is credited to your Primary Savings account within 60 days of meeting all qualifications.
Account Details
The checking account and the Primary Savings account it pays into must remain open and in good standing through the date the bonus is credited.
Eligibility

- Consumer accounts only.
- Maximum of one bonus per membership.
Tips & Gotchas
- →The direct deposit definition is fairly broad (payroll, benefits, pension, government payments) but explicitly excludes P2P transfers like Zelle and Venmo, plus mobile check deposits.
- →You need both parts: $500 in direct deposits AND 12 debit card purchases, both within 60 days of opening.
- →The bonus lands in your Primary Savings account, not the checking account you opened it with.
- →Qualifying also enters you into a separate monthly $200 sweepstakes drawing (June, July, and August 2026 periods) - a bonus chance, not a guaranteed payout, so we do not count it in the listed amount.
- →Navigator's own membership eligibility requires living, working, worshiping, or attending school in specific counties/parishes across Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, or Florida, or qualifying through family or a partner employer - check the field-of-membership page before applying.
- →Bonus may be reported on a 1099-MISC or 1099-INT depending on how Navigator classifies it.

What is a direct deposit?
An electronic payment sent directly into your bank account, usually from an employer or government.
Does Zelle Count as Direct Deposit for Bank Bonuses?
Usually no. At most banks a Zelle payment arrives coded as peer-to-peer and will not trigger the bonus. Citi is the clear exception. Its Enhanced Direct Deposit terms name Zelle as a qualifying deposit, and every Zelle report we have from Citi got paid.
