Open a checking account
Open a new Eastern Bank personal checking account between August 1 and September 14, 2026. Eastern Free Checking opens with $25, eZ Checking with $50, and Premier Checking with $500. Private Bank Checking does not qualify.
$3,000 in recurring direct deposits
Receive two or more recurring electronic payroll, pension, or government benefit direct deposits totaling at least $3,000 within the first 90 days after account opening. Person-to-person payments, transfers between your own accounts, and payments through third parties such as PayPal do not count.
Eastern checks whether you qualified within 90 days of opening and deposits all earned bonuses by February 11, 2027.
Account Details
Eastern commits only to paying the bonus by February 11, 2027, so plan on keeping the account open with a positive balance until then.
Eligibility
You cannot have been an owner of an Eastern Bank personal checking account on or after August 1, 2025.
Tips & Gotchas
- →You need two or more recurring direct deposits, not one lump sum. A single $3,000 ACH push will not qualify, so this one needs a real paycheck landing at least twice.
- →Open Eastern Free Checking if you want the cheapest path. It takes $25, has no monthly fee and no minimum balance, and qualifies for the full $350.
- →There is no debit card spending requirement and no balance to hold on the checking bonus.
- →The payout is slow. Eastern only commits to paying by February 11, 2027, and the account has to still be open with money in it when the bonus lands.
- →You have to live in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, or Rhode Island, and you cannot have owned an Eastern personal checking account on or after August 1, 2025.
- →One bonus of each type per household, counted by common address.
