- The $5.95 account maintenance fee is waived with 10 debit card transactions a month on Digital Edge (ages 16-26) and Digital Freedom (ages 27+) accounts, or with a direct deposit on Enhanced and Premium Checking. The Summit's rate and fee schedule lists every exemption.
The account must stay open and in good standing through June 15, 2027 to keep the bonus.

You cannot have had a Summit checking account or Summit Visa debit card in the past 120 days, and you cannot have been paid a Summit checking or debit card promotional bonus in the past 36 months. One cardholder per account.
- Credit union membership required with a $5 savings deposit. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers or attends school in the Town of Amherst, the City of Buffalo, Cortland County, the City of Geneva, the Town of Henrietta, the City of Rochester, the City of Syracuse or the City or Town of Tonawanda, to employees, retirees and volunteers of a member group, and to immediate relatives of or people sharing a residence with a member. The online application asks you to pick one of these eligibility reasons.

- →New York only: you must live, work, worship, volunteer or attend school in Amherst, Buffalo, Cortland County, Geneva, Henrietta, Rochester, Syracuse or Tonawanda, belong to a member group, or be an immediate relative of or share a home with a member.
- →No direct deposit is required. The work is 50 point-of-sale purchases, about one a day for two months, and they must post by 1/31/2027.
- →Order the new debit card by 11/30/2026 or the offer does not count. The account must also stay open through 6/15/2027, so do not close it as soon as the bonus pays.
- →The $5.95 monthly fee is waived with 10 debit transactions a month on the Digital Edge and Digital Freedom accounts, or with a direct deposit on Enhanced and Premium Checking.
- →The credit union can change the offer at any time without notice.
