Join Advia and open checking
Join Advia as a new member using promo code NM1000, applying online, over the phone, or at a branch, and open a new Regular Checking, Assurance Checking, or Money Market Checking account.
Deposit $400 in a qualifying month
E-deposit at least $400 during a single qualifying month. Advia counts direct deposit, ATM deposits, external transfers, and mobile check deposit toward this. Only wire transfers are excluded, so a plain transfer from another bank works.
Make 20 card purchases that month
Make at least 20 combined purchases on your Advia Visa debit card and credit card in the same qualifying month. Together with the $400 deposit this is what earns Advantage Plus Rewards status.
Advia deposits the $250 into your Share Savings within 45 days after the month-end reporting that shows you met the qualifications, so budget about four months from opening.
Account Details
Close the account within six months of the bonus being paid and Advia can withhold an amount equal to the incentive before closing.
Eligibility
New members only. Current and previous Advia members are both excluded, as are Advia employees.
- Advia has branches across Michigan, Wisconsin, and Illinois. Membership eligibility is checked at application.
- If your membership started through an auto or RV dealership loan, that initial loan does not qualify for the lending incentives.
- The bonus cannot be combined with other promotional offers.
Tips & Gotchas
- →No employer direct deposit is needed. Advia's own qualification page counts external transfers toward the $400, so you can push the money in from another bank.
- →Both halves have to land in the same calendar month. The $400 in deposits and the 20 card purchases are one monthly qualification, not two separate tasks.
- →Twenty purchases is the real work here. That is about five a week, and small everyday charges count, so spread them out rather than trying to catch up at the end of the month.
- →Use code NM1000 when you join. Without it the bonus does not attach.
- →Previous members are excluded, not just current ones. If you have ever been an Advia member you are not eligible.
- →Keep the account open six months after the bonus lands. Closing sooner lets Advia withhold the $250 at closing.
- →The bonus is paid into your Share Savings account, not the checking account.
- →The landing page headlines up to $1,000. The other $750 is for closing a mortgage or a loan, which are lending products this site does not cover.

If a new member account is opened via an indirect relationship at an auto or RV dealership, the initial indirect loan obtained to open the account does not qualify for the lending incentives. Incentives are deposited into Share Savings within 45 days following month-end reporting showing qualifications have been met. Full account relationship must be in good standing at the time of incentive payout to qualify; if the account is closed within six (6) months of incentive payout, funds equal to the incentives paid may be withheld prior to account closing. This offer may not be used in combination with other promotional offers. Other restrictions may apply.
